In April, we updated the Pricing and Promotions Policy on Udemy. This was one of the biggest changes in the history of Udemy, and we know this change had a big impact on you: our partners in this business. Over the past 4 months, we’ve been listening intently to you and your students. We’ve heard from you that you need more flexibility in setting your prices, and we’ve heard from students that they are motivated by more varied promotions that prompt them to explore a new product like an online course.

We heard you and are taking action. Effective August 22, we’re updating our pricing model:

  • A wider range. We’ll be expanding the range for list prices on Udemy to $20 – $200.
  • Larger discounts. We’ll be increasing the discount cap for Udemy promotions to 75% off and removing the 50% off limit on instructor coupons.
  • Re-introduction of fixed price deals. By popular demand, we’ll bring back the Fixed Price Promotional program. This will allow us to run promotions on your courses at prices like $10 or $15.
  • Maintain the floor. We will continue to limit sale prices to a minimum of $10, for both instructor promotions and Udemy deals.
  • Maintain tiers. We will continue to tier course list prices on the 5s and 0s.

Please note that all of these changes will go live on August 22. The Udemy Deals Program now includes both a Percentage Promotions program and a Fixed Price program.

We have opted instructors into these programs based on your past promotional preferences. You’ll be receiving email updates from our team with more information on your specific opt-in preferences.

An evolving marketplace

To be clear with you, we will continue to evolve our pricing model as the marketplace matures. The most recent pricing model provided key insights into pricing on Udemy. We will continue to dig deeper into these learnings and student feedback to evolve our pricing in the future. We believe this will help you grow your revenues on Udemy and, as we continue to grow and learn, we will continue to refine our pricing.

Our goal in making this change is to increase stability and confidence in your Udemy revenue as we continue to deepen our partnership.

Next steps for you

Please log into your account and visit the Bulk Price Edit screen. There you can change your course prices and confirm your opt-in for the Fixed Price program. Your courses will be included in our upcoming promotions unless you opt out of the program by August 22. Courses that you select new prices for will update on midnight Pacific time, August 22. For guidance on how to think through pricing your courses, please see our blog post.

Our team is on hand to answer any questions you have in the Udemy Studio this week, and we’ll also be hosting a conference call to go over this change in more detail. You can register for the conference call here. Thank you for your flexibility and support as we work together to build a stronger, more sustainable marketplace.

Case Study 6/8/2016 Working On Other Online Teaching Platforms Part 1

Hello everyone and welcome to yet another online teaching case study! In this week’s case study, we are going to be discussing Skillshare and creating courses other than Udemy!

Recently I have been uploading a lot of my courses onto other platforms, especially Skillshare. Skillshare is a subscription based online learning platform that allows premium users to access our courses. You can also create “free courses” that allow students to enroll anyone to enroll in your course for free!  Here is what my profile looks like after 3 days of starting on Skillshare!

So what are the advantages of working with Skillshare? Once you course has been approved it seems to be completely 100% passive income. There is not a whole lot of “student interaction” or “sending emails/answering questions”. However, Skillshare does have a “project” requirement for every course. Here is what that looks like!

Skillshare also pays its instructors with paypal and with a 50% 50% revenue share split. Its different because it’s a subscription based company, so here is some of the details below!

Overall I think trying and seeing how Skillshare works for you is a great opportunity to grow your online teaching business and earn some passive income as well!

I hope you have enjoyed this week’s case study! There are many ways to begin teaching online, but this should give you some great ideas that have worked for myself and many other online instructors! Stay tuned next week where I discuss more online teaching strategies.

Case Study 4/25/2016 Mastermind Group Recap!

Hello Everyone,
Welcome to another online teaching case study! Today I am writing this case study from more than 30,000 feet in the air! I have been very blessed to have been doing a lot of traveling and this past week I was in Tempe, Arizona and Las Vegas, Nevada!
Last week I know we discussed mastermind groups and how powerful they can be. This week I will discuss how my latest mastermind went! The group call was on google hangout which seems to be very easy for everyone to use. It is an excellent free tool and I would highly suggest using it for your next mastermind!
So what did we learn from our mastermind?
1) We learned that there are a lot of like-minded individuals who are looking to learn, improve, and grow their businesses. It is always awesome to meet new people with different perspectives and have different experiences.
2) I was able to learn more about google adwords and google analytics and how to track my sales as an online teacher. This is key to any business and very effective in the online world.
3) I was able to make new friends and collaborate with existing ones. This has opened my mind to new possibilities and I am very excited for the future!
Thank you for reading our blog post today! If you have any questions please feel free to post your comments below! Also, you can check out all of my blog posts for FREE by going to: http://joeparys.com/
I look forward to serving your next week where I will discuss my sales from the first month of Udemy’s new pricing system!

Case Study 4/11/2016 How To Get Your Course Approved On Udemy

Hello everyone and welcome to yet another online teaching case study! In this week’s case study, we are going to be discussing:
How To Get Your Course Approved By The Udemy Review Team!
Recently I have been creating many new courses and had difficulty getting a course approved by the review team. In fact, it took the team more than 2 weeks for them to approve our course. Let me share with you my experience and how persistence can help you launch your very next online video course!
1) First, it is important to know that the Udemy review team does a very good job in screening our courses. However, they do sometimes get overloaded and need us as instructors to do our best to stay patient, but also persistent.
On average the review team takes about 2-3 business days to respond to your course once you submit it for review. In my last courses case, it took about 10+ business days. So, on day 5 I decided to send Udemy support and email. They got back to me saying they were looking into it. It was then another 3-4 business days where nothing happened and there was no response. So I decided to persistently send them another email. Again it took them a few days to respond, but once they did the course went live within a matter of hours!
Now, when working with the review team members and Udemy support it is important to be as helpful as possible when it comes to getting your course approved! Here is an example from my course!

Since I was able to execute and be helpful the review team was able to put my course in the new and noteworthy section and the course is doing very well now because of it!

This is the power of working with the review team and producing a high quality course! We hope to see your next course live on the Udemy marketplace in no time!

Case Study 3/7/2016 Udemy’s New Pricing System!

I will be discussing three major topics in this blog post. The three main areas we will be discussing in this post are:
1) My reaction to the new pricing system and how it will affect my own courses moving forward
2) March 2016 Promotion Strategies and when to change the prices of your Udemy courses
3) Pricing strategies for the future and beyond here on Udemy!
Let’s Get Started!
1) My reaction to the new Udemy Pricing System
My first reaction to the new pricing system was complete “shock and disbelief”. “Only $50 as a maximum? $20 minimum? Seems like such a small range and wont everyone choose the same prices now?”
But once I did my research and read more as to “why” Udemy was doing this, I began to understand and think that it will benefit everyone moving forward! Incase you have not heard about the new pricing system, here is the email sent out by CEO Dennis Yang March 2nd, 2016:
“Hello Instructors,
Over the past few months, we have spoken with many of you on the phone and in person. Thank you for sharing with us. One topic has come up again and again throughout these conversations: our pricing. In this email I’ll share with you an update to pricing and promotions on Udemy as well as next steps for you.Current
Pricing
Students are Confused by Inconsistent Pricing
Today, prices are inconsistent and complicated for students. List prices range from $9 to $300, but the reality is that 90% of sales occur with a coupon code, and at a price less than $50. Students have been telling us how much they’re willing to spend for an online course, but we haven’t been listening as well as we should. We want pricing to be accessible and intuitive for students – to serve as an easy entry into learning, not a barrier.
Instructors are Frustrated by Constant Discounts
I’ve heard directly from you, our instructor community, that our promotions train students to wait for the lowest price and lead to an erosion of your average selling price. This has also encouraged inflated list prices, which makes it difficult for you to generate organic sales, and we’ve heard from many of you that deep discounts hurt your brands.
New Pricing
Reducing Discounts and Increasing Trust: Updating our Pricing
To address student and instructor concerns, today we’re announcing changes to pricing and promotions on Udemy. First, discounts, for both Udemy and instructor coupons, will be capped at 50% off.
Additionally, we’re announcing a change to list prices on Udemy: list prices will be capped at $50. This, combined with the reduction in discounts, will help keep courses accessible for students going forward. Effective April 4, 2016:
  • Courses on Udemy will be priced between $20 and $50; we will also continue to support free courses. Please see our Global Price Matrix for localized ranges.
  • Each course price will be individually set by the instructor between $20-$50, within $5 increments.
  • Course discounts, for both Udemy coupons and instructor coupons, will be capped at 50% off; we will also continue to support free coupons.
Learn More
We need a pricing model that combines both instructors’ desire to minimize discounts with students’ desire for fair and consistent pricing. We believe that combining lower list prices with smaller discounts will help ensure that Udemy remains a sustainable and accessible marketplace for both instructors and students for years to come.
We all believe that people everywhere should have access to the skills and courses necessary to build the lives they imagine for themselves. This belief is why I joined Udemy, and why so many of you teach. I’m honored to work alongside you, and our entire team is standing by to answer any questions you might have. If you’d like to set up some time to speak, please fill out this form.
At this time we ask that you view this post for the next steps you need to take, as well as a more detailed explanation of this change. We’re thrilled to partner with all of you on this journey, and we couldn’t be more optimistic about our future together.
Dennis Yang
CEO, Udemy”
What does this mean for all of us online instructors? It means we need to work with this new system, instead of against it. I will prove my own personal strategies in step 3 of this blog post!
After looking at my own sales data a majority of people were willing to buy my online courses at $10 to $25 dollars. I think this is why Udemy is going to this new pricing strategy and I believe it will work moving forward!
2) March 2016 Promotion Strategies and when to change the prices of your Udemy courses
Since today is March 7th and the new pricing system will not be in place until April 4th, this offers us instructors a unique opportunity to promote our courses. Why? Because $1 to $9 coupons and coupons with massive discounts (Anything beyond 50%) will cease to exist past April 4th.
My suggestion is to leave your courses the same price as they are today and not adapt the new system until April 4th. Why?
a) Udemy is still running its discount promotions in the month of March (I have received a ton of March affiliate sales so far!)
b) This will be the last chance (possible ever) to receive full price purchases of your Udemy courses! I received one as an affiliate sale already this month!
c) Run a massive $9.00 course super sale all the way until April 3rd or 4th. This new pricing system creates wonderful leverage to discount our courses below the future prices. As described above 50% will be the biggest discount moving forward and if your courses are the minimum $20 then $10 is the absolute lowest price for a course ever again on Udemy. So if we create and use our coupons below this mark ($9.00) as a super special I would image a lot of students would like this and want to buy our courses at this price!
3) Pricing strategies for the future and beyond here on Udemy!
So what are our options moving forward here on Udemy? What should I charge for my courses moving forward? This will be a difficult question to answer because the conversion data for your Udemy courses is certainly going to be different than the conversion data for mine! According to Udemy my courses are selling at around the average of $20 (with some of my bestsellers at around $25 on average). This means that I will most likely choose to list all of my courses at $20 to start and some of my bestsellers at perhaps $25. This will hopefully lead to more sales and will help me against my competition who will be selling similar courses but perhaps at a higher price? Only time will tell but I think this is going to bring in more students (especially organically) and put more money in our pockets as instructors! A Win Win for Everyone!
These are just a few ways you can take advantage of the new Udemy Pricing System and cash in on this unique opportunity!
I hope you have enjoyed this weeks case study! There are many ways to begin teaching online, but this should give you some great ideas that have worked for myself and many other online instructors! Stay tuned next week were I discuss more online teaching strategies.

Case Study 2/22/2016 – The New Udemy Review System is Here!

Hello everyone and welcome to yet another online teaching case study! In this weeks case study, we are going to be discussing The New Udemy Review System!
I will be discussing three main areas and showing you specific examples from my own online courses! The three main areas we will be discussing in this post are:
1) What Are The New Changes To The Review System
2) How Can We Work With The New Review System To Create A Win/Win Situation
3) How To Continue To Create High Quality Courses To Combat Negative Reviews
Let’s get started!
1) What Are The New Changes To The Review System
The first major change that both Jerry and I have noticed is that you can now reply DIRECTLY to someones review! This is a great new feature! In Jerrys last email he shows you exactly how to do this. Incase you missed it, here are the screenshots below!
How do you get to reviews? Go to instructor dashboard on the top bar next to my courses.
Next select the reviews tab
You can then filter based upon star levels
Every review has a “respond” button on it! This makes it very easy to respond directly to that persons review!
Here is an example of a review that I have responded to in my newest android course!
The second thing that I noticed is that students can now rate courses with .5 or half star ratings! I got one of my first half star ratings just a few hours ago!
4.5 Stars!

The third major change to the review system is that Udemy now has 3 different checkpoints in which it will specifically be asking your for a review! (a beginning, middle, and ending checkpoint).

Here is what that looks like at the very first checkpoint which takes place very early on in the course!

These changes have instantly boosted and created more reviews almost overnight! This is a very exciting time to see how this new review system will work in the future months to come!

2) How Can We Work With The New Review System To Create A Win/Win Situation
The best way to maximize your experience as a Udemy instructor is to work WITH the new review system, instead of resisting AGAINST it. This creates a WIN/WIN situation for Udemy and yourself as the instructor!
Here are a few tips:
1) Be adaptable and willing to work with the new system. Don’t fight against it!
2) Use the new review system to your advantage! Spend the time getting to know/learn the new system
3) Focus on the areas you like about the new system, instead of the areas that bother you!
Here are some additional suggestions from Jerry Banfield on how to respond to reviews to create better situations for everyone!
“Here are a few tips for responding to reviews generally based on what I am doing today.
  • Responding to the top negative review on each course is my first priority. With 47 courses and 132 one and two star reviews, not all reviews are created equal. The reviews buyers are most likely to see are the most important for me to respond to because that is where I can hope to most effectively reach a potential student. This means now I will try to respond to every new one and two star review as soon as I see it.
  • Responding to older reviews that are not on the first page of reviews can be done steadily over time until every one of them has a response. Some buyers will read as many reviews as possible and the older reviews often provide a great chance to convert especially when the response is newer.
  • Responding to a review shows students you are actively watching the course and keeping it updated. This as a buyer is very important for me to see the instructor is participating in the course because I want to know I can get answers to my questions in the course.” -Jerry Banfield
3) How To Continue To Create High Quality Courses To Combat Negative Reviews
The key (especially now with this new review system) to getting higher reviews and ratings is to actually go back to the fundamentals and create high quality online videos courses! Also, allowing an abundance of new students to try your course is a great way to boost your reviews! Here are a few tips I will be trying with the new system in place:
1) Allowing lots of free students into my course to drive additional reviews
2) Having my first lectures be of the highest quality to set the tone in the course and give students as great reason to provide 5 star reviews
3) Responding to as many negative reviews as possible and trying to resolve the issues by making my courses better, not by trying to change the reviews opinion! Nothing beats an awesome course :)
I hope you have enjoyed this weeks case study! There are many ways to begin teaching online, but this should give you some great ideas that have worked for myself and many other online instructors! Stay tuned next week were I discuss more online teaching strategies.

Case Study 2/16/2016 Intermediate Teaching Online Techniques!

Hello everyone and welcome to yet another online teaching case study! In this weeks case study, we are going to be discussing Intermediate Teaching Online Techniques!
This case study was inspired by student feedback for students just getting started teaching online on Udemy!
I will be discussing three main areas and showing you specific examples from my own online courses! The three main areas we will be discussing in this post are:
1) Building Student – Instructor Relationships
2) Promotional Video Strategies
3) Simple Ways To Market Outside of Udemy
Let’s Get Started!
1) Building Student – Instructor Relationships
It is absolutely essential to your online teaching success that you are able to build a healthy foundation with your students! TRUST is the key to any relationship, and your students need to be able to trust you. Here are a few strategies I use when building relationships with my students:
a) Be available and open to communicating regularly with your students
I have had multiple students have exceptional experiences in my online courses because I make the effort to answer their questions and messages in a very timely manner! In fact, I even had one student message me first because the online support was taking days to get back to him! I was able to message him the answer to his question within one hour! Being available really helps build trust with your students!
b) Do your absolute best to answer each question honestly and sincerely
When building trust with your students they can tell when you are not being authentic and genuine. This is important because when you go to answer your students questions you do not want to come off sounding fake or phony. That is what I do my best to answer each question honestly and sincerely, even if I do not know the exact answer! Admitting we do not know everything also builds trust!
c) Enjoy the interactions!
I know some instructors hate answering question and if you serve a lot of students it can become a “burden” if you let it. However, I actually enjoy taking the time to get to know my students! This also allows me to better serve them and create better content in the future :)
2) Promotional Video Strategies
After creating more than 30+ Udemy courses I have begun to see how important your promotional video is! Did you know students are 5X more likely to enroll in your course if you have a good promo video!
Here are the statistics from Udemy:
So if the promotional video is so important, how do we make a really great one? Well, Udemy has a great guide to help us with this! All you have to do is click on the “promo video guide” after clicking on the “promo video” tab!
Here are a few of their recommendations:
“1) Welcome & Instructor Intro
Give a 1-sentence intro to the course then tell the student why you’re a credible instructor.
2) Benefits
Describe the benefits of the course and what students will be able to do after completing it.
3) Ideal Student Description
Describe your target student.
4) Thank You & Call to Action
Call the student to enroll in the course or try the free preview if they want to explore further.”
3) Simple Ways To Market Outside of Udemy
Student Question:
“Joe,
I just launched my second class on udemy and am looking to drive some traffic to it. My first class is a free class and I have about 2800 students with good reviews. Since my first class was free I can’t do a promotional message to get the word out. What are some good ideas to drive people to my new class?”
_______________
This is an excellent question! Here are few suggestions that have helped me in driving in more traffic to my Udemy course! I now have 35 of them and am serving more than 80,000+ students!
1) Try uploading your videos to YOUTUBE for coupon links back to your Udemy courses!
Youtube is currently the #3 website in the world and has millions of users watching videos everyday! This is a great place to begin attracting students into your online course!
2) Try the Udemy studio!
The Udemy Studio Facebook group has more than 36,000+ members currently and they allow you to put free coupons of your course in the studio note section! This allows many students to try your course for free, share it with friends, and get thousands of students enrolled in your course! Just type in “Udemy Studio” into the search option on Facebook, click “join group” and wait for Udemy to add you :)
3) Free Facebook Udemy groups!
There are many free coupon and discount coupon facebook groups that allow you to post your Udemy free coupons (to your piad courses) on their pages! All you have to do is obey the rules, participate, be friendly, and post your coupons once your course is created! I would try the following groups!
Udemy coupon guru
Udemy 80% or less coupons
Udemy Free Coupons, Promotions, Page
Udemy $1-$9 Coupons
Udemy $20 and Under Coupons
And there are many more!
4) You can also try other coupon websites!
www.retailmenot.com has an awesome Udemy coupon section! Just type in “Udemy” to the retail me not search option and add in your coupons. There are also sites like www.coupontrump.com, www.onlinecoursecoupons.com and many more to help you get started!

Case Study 2/8/2015 A Beginners Guide To Teaching Online – What I Wish I Knew When I First Started Teaching Online!

Hello everyone and welcome to yet another online teaching case study! In this weeks case study, we are going to be discussing A Beginners Guide To Teaching Online – What I Wish I Knew When I First Started Teaching Online!
This case study was actually inspired by student feedback for students just getting started teaching online on Udemy!
I will be discussing three main areas and showing you specific examples from my own online courses! The three main areas we will be discussing in this post are:
1) How To Set Up My Udemy Instructor Account Quickly and Easily
2) How To Choosing A Topic To Teach Online and When To Launch Your First Course!
3) What Sells Best On Udemy and Other Online Websites!
Lets Begin With Question 1)
1) How To Set Up My Udemy Instructor Account Quickly and Easily
The easiest way to being setting up your Udemy account for getting paid students is to go to:
Here they will show you step by step how to update your instructor page and add in your Paypal account!
They also show you step by step how to edit your profile and how to change the price of your Udemy courses! This is an excellent tool and will help you easily get started teaching online!
I remeber it taking me more than 1 week to get my profile figured out and I just wanted to hopefully make this
process easier for all new instructors!
2) How To Choosing A Topic To Teach Online and When To Launch Your First Course!
When I first began teaching online I chose a topic I knew a lot about and had the proof to show for it! This really helped me in creating my first course because it made the whole teaching part easy! I would suggest if you are new to teaching online to start with teaching a subject you know and are passionate about! This will give you momentum to learn, create momentum for your next course, and continue to become a better online instructor. Here is a phrase that I wish I heard early on as an instructor:
“If you are not embarrassed by your first course, you did not start soon enough!”
Here is my first goal setting course:
Now in 2016 I am a little embarrassed by! Why? Because the quality of the videos is lower because my awareness of how to create the videos was low!

Here is an example of my first course lecture! A powerpoint example!

Now, after creating this course I ended up creating a whole new course on goal setting because I became more aware of how to create higher quality videos!

This course has received higher more 5 star reviews and look at the difference in engagement in the video lecture! It is a night and day difference :)

So what is the message? Try your best to learn as much as you can about how to create amazing videos first and then start creating your online courses! It will save you lots of time and the students will enjoy your courses more!

3) What Sells Best On Udemy and Other Online Websites!
After creating more than 30+ courses here on Udemy what I have found to sell the best is highly technical courses! This is why I have hired and am working with professionals who know how to create and teach these subjects! Here is an example of my newest course on Android Development! It has enrolled over 8,000+ Students in its first week!
It has also received some very nice reviews because we have condensed the amount of information in the course! The saying “less is more” can definitely apply to online teaching! It’s important to get to the point and not waste your students time :)
I hope you have enjoyed this weeks case study! There are many ways to begin teaching online, but this should give you some great ideas that have worked for myself and many other online instructors! Stay tuned next week were I discuss more intermediate teaching strategies and how to begin making your first online sales!

Case Study 1/11/2016 How To Promote Your Courses On Udemy and Earn Thousands!

In this weeks case study I am going to discuss how you can begin to earn more from each of your Udemy courses by promoting directly on Udemy! The inspiration for this weeks blog post has come from student feedback and other instructors asking me how I am able to earn thousands each and every month promoting my courses and re-marketing them! Here is last months revenues promoting directly on Udemy!
December 2015 Promotion Activity:
So how was I able to drive in more than $3,000 in promotional sales last month? Let me give you 3 strategies that have worked very well for me and for many other instructors here on Udemy.
1) Picking A Price Point: How Much Should I Charge When Promoting My Courses On Udemy?
This question comes up all of the time in the Udemy studio and is often debated between many instructors. I would just like to say first that there is no “correct” or “one size fits all” answer to this question. However, through my own testing of many different price points ($9, $10, $12, $14, $15, $19, $29) I have discovered that $9.00 coupons seem to work the best when re-marketing and promoting to our existing students on Udemy. I believe this price point is currently working the best for the following reasons:
  • A majority of students who have already bought one or more of your courses most likely did so at the discounted $10.00 price point. Some may have paid $15.00 or $19.00 but Udemy’s most popular price point has consistently been $10.00. Knowing this, it does not make much sense for a student who has enrolled for $10.00 to enroll in another one of your courses for $19.00 or $29.00 if they know and understand Udemy will eventually run another $10.00 flash sale promotion. Are there exceptions to this? Absolutely. This is just research based on my own personal experience.
  • $9.00 Coupons are a better deal! It’s human nature to want to find the best deal isn’t it? I know for me personally I am willing to spend the extra 5 minutes to save even a dollar or two if I can. Why? Because we all love getting a good deal! It’s an ego thing really, its not much about saving the $1-2 dollars (even though it does add up!) :) So by offering $9.00 coupons you are offing the best “deal in town” (slightly better than Udemy’s own $10.00 sales) which is more enticing and will most likely sell better.
  • WARNING: DO NOT DROP BELOW $9.00 COUPONS! I have not mentioned any coupons below the $9.00 price point because I believe you will be losing not only money, but also credibility with your courses. If you want to “give your courses away” I.E. at a $3.00 coupon or $5.00 or even $7.00 coupon, why not just give them away for free? I have given away thousands of FREE coupons and still believe in this strategy, but when it comes to marketing and promoting I just think anything below $9.00 is a losing strategy because once you drop to a certain point students will anticipate that price point again and delay buying your courses! Again, Just my personal opinion :)
2) How To Build A 63,000+ Student Email List To Cross Promote and Market To!
When it comes to getting more promotional sales on Udemy it always helps to have a lot of students to re-target!
How do we effectively do this? I would encourage reads to go back and read my previous blog post because I discuss FREE coupons in more depth. However, the more “free students” you give coupons to, the more chances you have to sell them a new course! Also, if you have been very generous, many of these “free students” turn into paying students! A Win Win for everyone :)
Also, when you have more free students it build your credibility, you have a better chance of driving in more of your own sales, and then Udemy starts to promote and market your courses which drives in even more paid students to re-market to! This create a massive sales funnel and can really help you drive in more and more sales!
3) Understand and Learn Marketing Psychology!
When marketing anything in life it is very important to understand who you are marketing to and to target your audience. I have a variety of different courses on subjects such as web development, music, google analytics, goal setting, and even Evernote! Ask yourself, would it make a lot of sense to try and sell my “how to build a website course” to my music students? Or my music course to my “how to build a website” students? Most likely not. Why? Because web development students are most likely not interested in learning about music. Some of them might be, but more of them would be willing to buy my next shorter niche web development course. Use this knowledge and strategy to your advantage and carefully re-target your courses!
Also, knowing and understanding marketing psychology is very important. I have a degree in psychology so I understand many of these principles, but I would highly recommend looking into marketing psychology strategies to boost your promotional sales here on Udemy!
